ApimacProtectFilesfacilitatesthistaskwithsecureencryption.
Specificallydesignedforthosewhowantadedicatedsolution,
ProtectFilesguidesinexperiencedusersstep-by-stepinthe
creationanduseofencryptedspaces,whicharemanagedthrougha
simpleinterfacethatguidesyouinlockingandunlockingdocuments
andfolders.Anencryptedspaceisapassword-protectedspacethat
canresideonyourMacsharddrive,anexternaldiskorUSBstick.
Safelystorefolders,documents,photos,videos,music,andall
typesoffilestopreventothersfromaccessingthem.Thespaceis
displayedasanormalvolumeonthedesktop.Whenthespaceis

theencryptedspacefile'sicon,enteryourpasswordandthespace
willshowupasavolumeonyourdesktop.

Theencryptedspacevolumecontainsallyourfiles,documentsand
foldersandyouuseitasaregularexternaldisk:justcopythe
filesyouwanttoprotectinsidethisvolume.Afterworkingwith
it,ejectthevolumebyclickingtheEjectbuttoninthesidebarof
aFinderwindowordraggingthevolumeicontotheTrash.

Bydefault,ProtectFilescreates128-bitAESEncryptedSpaces.
Howeverforevenstrongerencryption,theusermayoptionally
specify256-bitAESencryptionintheapplicationspreferences.
ProtectFilesleverageMacOSXtechnologytocreatediskimages
withAESencryption,whichisoneofthemostsecureencryption
